Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center, LLC, is conveniently located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn at 1301 Avenue J. It is separate but adjacent to the offices of the  ophthalmology practice of KLM Ophthalmology - Kochman, Lebowitz and Mogil, MDs, LLP.

The Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center was founded in 1984. The center is one of the first ambulatory surgery centers in the metropolitan New York area, and has become a vital "community resource" to both patients and physicians.

It has achieved accreditation by AAAHC ( Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care). This accreditation demonstrates the Surgery Center's commitment to provide high quality care for its patients.

The Center was the very first Medicare-approved and NYS-licensed freestanding ambulatory surgery center in Brooklyn -devoted exclusively to ophthalmic surgery - and has as its priority the safeguarding of the precious gift of sight of all members of the community and surrounding areas, particularly senior citizens.

Using state-of-the-art technology and the expertise of outstanding specialists in the field, Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center has seen and helped literally tens of thousands of patients, like seniors whose eyesight has been afflicted by a number of age-related eye conditions.

Because of its reputation, and because a free-standing, private facility holds considerable advantages for the patient over hospital-based surgery, many private ophthalmologists and ophthalmic surgeons from Brooklyn and beyond have joined the staff and are able to offer such a facility to their patients.
 
The Center is furnished with all of the technical equipment needed to provide state-of-the-art eye care. Some examples of equipmet include: YAG laser, two completely equipped operating rooms, and a full range of diagnostic and treatment equipment. The operating rooms are also equipped to provide the latest in patient monitoring during surgery.

The Center staff includes Board-certified anesthesiologists who are present on the days of surgery.

The facility has seen the completion of thousands of major ophthalmic procedures since its opening as a licensed freestanding ambulatory surgery center in 1984.
